SK Telecom, Samsung, and Cisco to Collaborate in 5G Smart Offices
SK Telecom, Samsung Electronics, and Cisco have just signed a MoU to develop and launch 5G-based smart office services. A comprehensive smart office package comprising enterprise handsets, collaboration solutions, a mobile-centric work environment, and a 5G network will be launched in the second half of 2019 according to the plan. Desktop PCs and laptops will be replaced by mobile virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), which enables employees “to do their work on a shared monitor without any PC or laptop by connecting their smartphones to docking stations.”
SK Telecom to Collaborate with Nokia and Ericsson in 6G Research
SK Telecom announced that they will collaborate with telecom equipment vendors, Nokia and Ericsson to conduct joint R&D projects for 6G wireless networks. They will research Ultra Reliable and Low Latency Communications technologies (URLLC), Distributed Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), artificial intelligence (AI) on networks, 28GHz band and 5G Stand-Alone (SA) networks to apply on commercial networks.
IIoT is Driving the Growth of the Industrial Communications Market
